TEACHING AFRICAN CANADIAN HISTORY

ABOUT FUNDI EDUCATION

Fundi  is a Swahili word meaning "passing on knowledge and skills to the next generation." I specialize in the development of curriculum resources that focus on African Canadian history and the African Diaspora.

People of African descent helped shape the cultural, legal, political, military, and athletic history of this country, creating the Canada that we know today. As such, their contributions can be linked to the curriculum throughout the year, not just during Black History Month.

Teachers are in need of the resources to help them integrate the rich and diverse history of Black Canadians into the everyday classroom experience of students. With that in mind, I am pleased to create this website and blog to share resources and provide support to educators striving to include the African Canadian experience across the curriculum with the aim of enriching the learning experiences of all students in their classroom.
